Wow, I’m not alone. I ignorantly spent $300 for a table at the Las Vegas convention. When the convention was cancelled, I asked Sherry for a refund, but after dodging the issue a few times, (waiting for a refund from the Mirage, passed message along to Judson who’s handling it) she has stopped answering my emails. I’ve also been banned from the TPN website. Any bets on whether I get my money back?

Someone might want to check to see how much the Mirage is owed.

@David Strunk: I'm not sure I fully understand your last point. I believe one of government's core roles is arbitrating justice as well; without that function, we have anarchy. Contracts, after all, mean nothing if unenforceable. Your last point, though, leaves me confused. To which issue(s) specifically are you referring as human rights issues? Are you thinking we're sparring over what the role of gov't is, or which gov't should assume a given responsibility? Philosophically speaking, that last paragraph is a pretty major non sequitur.

Probably where you and I spar the most is in our differences in the funamental/philosophical differences in libertarianism and conservatism.

I believe the government has a role in arbitrating justice- whether on an international level (Rom 13.) or an individual (as with abortion or other fundamental life-existence and liberty issues– this is a human rights issue and therefore a federal issue and NOT a state one– a libertarian would disagree with me here).

Sounds like you’re taking a play from the playbook of Marvin Olasky and “The tragedy of American compassion.” In it, Olasky empirically shows how goverment expansion and entitlements decrease the scope of private charity and actually lessen the effectiveness of alleviating poverty altogether.

I too was suspended from TPN but without warning and without explanation. It is important to realize that the Tea Party movement has what appears to be 2 totally separate factions. 1 being TPN and the other being TPP. I have no issues whatsoever with the TPP faction whereas TPN suspended me on day 3 for reasons unknown to me because TPN refuses to reply to my repeated requests for information relative to why I was suspended. I therefore have to say I am highly suspicious of the TPN organization and very much pleased with the TPP faction. The thought does cross one’s mind maybe the movement itself is in the process of being hi-jacked but that would not seem possible—or is it? Something just does not smell right here so be careful. I for 1 am going to start looking deeper by following thw money. TPN, after all, is NOT a not a not for profit organization whereas TPP (Tea Party Patriots) is all volunteers. THAT is something to bear in mind– for sure!

First of all, I want to say thank you for your honesty, In reading some of the post, it seems like a lot of the people are thinking that the whole tea party movement is for profit. It is not, This is only the Tea Party Nation, NOT the whole tea party movement.
As for Judson Phillips, he should go join the rubes in the white house, he will fit right in as a cheat.
Last, To “tea partier”, You use most of your post saying we all have choices, then you blast Kevin for screwing you… You were the one who emptied your savings, took vacation, even went as far as to buy an overpriced ticket when you were an INVITED speaker… DING DING DING has your stupid bell been disconnected? If I were invited to be a speaker at a convention, then told I had to spend my own dime to get there AND buy a full price ticket, I would do a little research into the organization. You screwed yourself.
Thanks again for the info on tea party nation, I will spread it to anyone that will listen and maybe we can run this ass out of business.
