If I were invited to be a speaker at a convention, then told I had to spend my own dime to get there AND buy a full price ticket, I would do a little research into the organization. The people who "really" wanted to check size of government regardless of political party expanding it, has been involved with the Campaign for Liberty AKA The Ron Paul Revolution for quite sometime. After foolishly, and against my reservations attended a couple Tea Party rallies it became apparent to me, that the Tea Partiers were not potential allies with the CfL, but mostly comprised of amazingly ignorant bitter Republicans..and yes..racists..overtly or not. Ron Paul was warning about the coming economic collapse and fall of the dollar when all the Repubs could do was argue with the Dems on war and torture. He also warned about all the power Bush was grabbing because it could it could end up in the wrong hands, i.e. Barrack Obama. The New Tea Party groups are okay and a good start, but if you want to be part of the original idea and the original tea party movement join the Campaign for Liberty.
