It's my theory that the obvious contradictions in the Democrat's platform are the cause of years of Republican control in the Congress and White House. How did the Democrats change that paradigm? With years of a media blitzkrieg against George Bush and the Republicans that has since led to a "common wisdom" that Bush is horrible and to be blamed for everything. Did he mess up? Absolutely. Does every President? Yes. But it is simply mind boggling that after 7 years of economic boom — and that's even after the devastation wrought on the economy after 9/11 — it begins to slide drastically in the last year and somehow this is entirely the result of George W. Bush's failed policies? Really? Could there be a more ignorant and simplistic mindset than this? And yet this is prevalent. This is unchallenged common knowledge, accepted by nearly all. If we really care about poor people, we will.. 1) End all taxes on food and gas nationally. 2) Not raise there electric rates. We should ask the question: What do poor people spend money on?
